POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Manager of Brand and Product Marketing will help lead marketing strategies and execution for Rare Beauty, driving go-to-market plans for both new launches and core products. This role requires strong cross-functional partnership—collaborating closely with Creative, Product Development, Consumer Marketing, PR/Influencer, Partnerships, Retail Marketing, Sales, Education, Visual Merchandising, etc. to bring each launch to life from concept to shelf. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Brand and Product Marketing, this person is a creative and analytical thinker who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes initiative with confidence and curiosity. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in the beauty industry, strong project management skills, and a passion for telling meaningful product stories that connect with our community.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership

• Work with Senior Director to lead impactful storytelling campaigns end-to-end, from strategic ideation through asset creation, for all product launches, collaborations, and promotional moments

• Serve as a key strategic partner to the Senior Director, proactively flagging risks, opportunities, and recommendations rather than waiting for direction

• Own cross-functional project management for innovation and core product launches, managing go-to-market timelines and deliverables across product development, creative, consumer marketing, sales, education, regulatory, etc.

• Help provide clarity and consistency to cross functional partners and team members to ensure brand voice, brand values and product positioning is aligned on from end-to-end product launches.

• Set a high standard for execution. Balance strategic priorities with attention to detail, delivering work that is accurate, cohesive, and ready for market. Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen collaboration, and increase the quality and efficiency of team output.

• Mentor and elevate the team. Provide thoughtful feedback, share expertise, and help teammates strengthen their strategic thinking and execution skills. Model ownership, constructive communication, and follow-through.

Cross-Functional Ownership

• Be the product expert, serving as the central point of contact and category expert, ensuring internal teams have the information and assets needed to activate effectively.

• Support the development of product messaging, claims language, and marketing copy in partnership with the Product Development, Creative & Copy, Regulatory & Claims Teams and Senior Director

• Drive cross-functional alignment with Sales and Retail Marketing to deliver cohesive, product-led execution across in-store and online channels, ensuring consistent positioning, messaging, and assets throughout the customer journey.

• Partner with the Education team to translate product positioning, benefits, and substantiated claims into compelling training and marketing materials, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with brand standards while equipping teams to communicate product value confidently.

• Drive comprehensive go-to-market execution by connecting product strategy to campaign development, messaging and claims, competitive materials, product detail page (PDP) content, and supporting assets. Develop and maintain asset checklists that clarify requirements, owners, approvals, and delivery dates.

Execution & Operational

• Own and maintain the detailed marketing launch timeline, including critical path tracking and milestone communication to ensure timely and coordinated execution

• Brief cross-functional teams on product storytelling and asset needs, ensuring all launch materials are on-brand, accurate, and delivered on time

• Drive post-launch analysis and maintain competitive awareness by monitoring category trends, industry shifts, and competitor activity and analyze consumer trends, category insights, and the competitive landscape to guide product positioning and marketing strategy

• Drive launch readiness across channels. Ensure product messaging, claims, PDP content, campaign assets, retail materials, and education resources are complete, approved, and ready for deployment. Maintain a clear source of truth for deliverables and communicate progress, decisions, and changes to cross-functional partners.

• Represent product marketing on set. Actively participate in photo and video production, including shoots with models, to guide product storytelling, usage demonstrations, and benefit communication. Partner with the production and creative teams to ensure model interactions, product application, and shot selection accurately represent the product and fulfill the brief.

• Ensure assets deliver against business and channel needs. Define shot lists and content requirements with Creative, review assets through final delivery, and ensure the resulting photography and video support campaign, PDP, retail, social, and education needs.

REQUIREMENTS

• 6-8 years of experience in brand or product marketing within the beauty industry, with deep expertise in color and/or complexion categories.

• Proven track record of leading end-to-end product launches from concept through launch.

Strong understanding of product storytelling claims development, and the creative process.

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

• Strategic thinker who can zoom out on big-picture brand storytelling while staying close to executional details.

• Naturally curious and proactive, always seeking new insights, trends, and opportunities to innovate.

• Agile and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in an evolving, entrepreneurial environment.

• Collaborative team player who builds strong relationships and communicates clearly across departments.

• Passionate about Rare Beauty’s mission and excited to help create products that inspire confidence and self-acceptance.

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred.
