Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 5, 2026
ecom.jobs (“we”, “us”) is a job platform for the ecommerce industry. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what your rights are. Questions any time: [email protected].
What we collect
- Browsing — no account is needed to browse jobs. We use self-hosted, cookieless analytics (Umami) to understand aggregate site usage; it does not build cross-site profiles of you.
- Product usage — to run and improve the service we keep a first-party log of in-app activity: pages you view, searches you run, and actions like saving a job, following a company, or applying. For signed-in users this is linked to your account; otherwise it is tied to a first-party analytics id stored in a functional cookie on this site only. We do not sell it or share it with advertisers, and it is deleted with your account.
- Account — email, name, and password hash (or your Google account identifier if you sign in with Google).
- Candidate profile — whatever you choose to add: headline, location, work preferences, skills, experience, education, portfolio links, and an uploaded resume.
- Applications— when you apply to a job through ecom.jobs, we store your application (contact details, answers, and the resume you submitted) and share it with the employer who posted the job. When you click Apply on a job hosted on an external site, we record that click in your applications history and you continue on the employer’s own site under their privacy policy.
- Employer accounts — company details, job postings, and billing history for paid features (payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store card numbers).
- Emails — transactional email (verification, password reset) and, if you opt in, job-alert digests. Every alert email has a one-click unsubscribe. We log basic delivery events (sent, delivered, opened, bounced) via our email provider to monitor deliverability.
What we do NOT do
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not run third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
- We do not make your profile publicly searchable — employers only see your details when you apply to their job (or if you explicitly enable an open-to-work visibility setting).
AI features
When you apply to a job posted directly on ecom.jobs, we may use AI models to summarize your application and screening answers for the employer (for example a fit summary and highlights). This assists the employer’s review; hiring decisions are made by the employer, not by an automated system. AI processing uses the application content you submitted and your profile details.
Where your data lives
Data is stored on servers we control (EU-hosted infrastructure) and with processors we use to run the service: Cloudflare (hosting, storage of uploaded files in a private bucket), Resend (email delivery), Stripe (payments), Trigger.dev (background jobs), and AI model providers for the features above. Resumes and portfolio files are stored privately and served only through short-lived signed links.
Retention & your rights
We keep your data while your account is active. You can edit your profile at any time, and delete your account from Settings — this removes your profile, saved data, and uploaded files from active systems. Employers keep copies of applications you already sent them, as any recruiter would. You can also email us to access, correct, export, or erase your data (GDPR/CCPA rights where applicable).
Job listings
Job listings are aggregated from public employer career sites and data providers, or posted directly by employers. Listing data is about companies and roles, not private individuals.
Changes
We’ll update this page when our practices change and adjust the date above. Material changes will be flagged on the site or by email.
