About the role

Department: Marketing • Location: In-Office: The Woodlands, TX • Employment Type: Full-Time Experience Level: Director-Level Individual Contributor • Reports To: [TBD] • Works Closely With: Director of Marketing, Paid Media Buyer, Data Analyst, Product Development, Operations Salary: $95,000 – $135,000

Creators and ads send us enormous traffic. Our funnel makes or breaks the monetization of this traffic.

Optimizing our funnels immediately adds more revenue with no additional ad spend required. We launch 20+ books in a year, we run a subscription, and we sell books, bundles, plushes, and games to hundreds of thousands of families who already trust the brand. Every one of those is a conversion surface that has the opportunity to be optimized.

We want the person who finds that money. Someone who has torn apart funnels for a living, who thinks in AOV and LTV instead of impressions.

What you'll actually do:

  • Own ecommerce revenue and the funnel that produces it. You carry the number. Traffic in, revenue out, and every step between: the landing page, product page, cart, checkout, post-purchase, retention. You'll know where every dollar leaks and what you're doing about it this week.
  • Understanding CRO. Keep a permanent testing timeline where we are always improving our headlines, layouts, social proof, urgency, guarantees, price presentation, checkout friction, etc. You'll ship tests continuously, read them honestly, and compound the wins.
  • Engineer AOV. Bundles, tiers, order bumps, upsells, cross-sells, free-shipping thresholds, quantity breaks. Our catalog is deep enough to build a dozen offers nobody has built yet. You'll find them and test them.
  • Build LTV. Acquisition is the expensive part; retention is where the margin lives. You'll own subscription conversion and retention, win-back flows, replenishment, and the post-purchase experience that turns a one-book buyer into a multi-year customer.
  • Partner tightly on paid. You won't run the ad accounts, but you'll speak the language fluently. Landing page and offer are half of ROAS. You'll work with the Paid Media Buyer on the full path from ad to order and be accountable for blended performance, not just on-site metrics.
  • Push on product-market fit. You're closest to purchase behavior. You'll bring Product Development evidence-backed proposals on what to make next based on what's actually selling and what customers keep asking for.
  • Open new revenue channels. Amazon, marketplaces, ESA platforms, affiliates, Tiktok Shop, Snapchat, Pinterest, etc. Test quickly and find results or move onto the next channel.

What we're looking for:

  • A funnel operator with a track record. You've improved conversion rate or AOV, and you can walk us through exactly how. Specifics matter more than pedigree here.
  • Obsessed with unit economics. Contribution margin, blended CAC, payback period, cohort curves. You find this genuinely fun, and you'd rather look at the data than argue about it.
  • Commercially creative. The best offers aren't obvious. You can look at a catalog and immediately see three ways to package it that would sell better than how it's packaged now.
  • High tempo, fast reversal. You'll bet on ideas with incomplete information and kill your own favorites when the numbers say so.
  • Self-directed. Nobody hands you a priority list. You find the biggest lever and pull it.

Required qualifications:

  • 5+ years in DTC ecommerce with direct ownership of a revenue or growth target
  • Demonstrated results in conversion rate optimization, AOV expansion, and retention or LTV improvement — with numbers you can defend
  • Hands-on Shopify expertise across products, collections, checkout, apps, and reporting
  • Deep command of ecommerce unit economics and cohort analysis
  • Experience designing, launching, and testing offers, bundles, and pricing
  • Working knowledge of paid acquisition and how creative, offer, and landing page interact
  • Strong written communication and the ability to make a clear business case

Preferred qualifications:

  • Subscription platform experience (Recharge, Skio, or similar)
  • Amazon or marketplace selling experience
  • Experience launching a new sales channel from zero
  • Email and lifecycle marketing fluency (Klaviyo or similar)
  • Basic technical ability — Liquid, HTML/CSS, or landing page builders
  • Publishing, media, or creator-driven brand background
  • Experience with faith-based or values-driven audiences

Why you'd want this job:

The traffic problem is already solved, which is the part most ecommerce operators spend their careers fighting. You inherit a warm, trusting, high-intent audience and a catalog that grows every single month, plus genuine authority over how we monetize it. A half-percent lift can net tens of thousands of dollars. If you want to prove what you can do with real volume and real autonomy, this is the seat.
