Part-Time & Full-Time
The Store Associate will be part of the Bonnie Clyde retail team at our Lower East Side, New York store. This role is focused on creating a welcoming, engaging, and memorable customer experience while representing the Bonnie Clyde brand and helping with the day-to-day success of the store.
You'll work closely with the NY Store Manager and retail team across customer experience, product knowledge, merchandising, events, content, and store operations.
We're looking for someone who is confident, personable, proactive, and genuinely interested in fashion, eyewear, design, and culture. The right person should enjoy connecting with different types of people, have a natural sense of hospitality, and be able to understand what a customer is looking for without making the experience feel overly sales-driven.
Both part-time and full-time positions are available.
Responsibilities
- Create a friendly, welcoming, and engaging experience for every customer who enters the store.
- Build genuine relationships with customers, understand their needs and personal style, and make thoughtful product recommendations.
- Help customers discover the right frames through strong product knowledge, styling, and an understanding of fit.
- Develop a strong understanding of Bonnie Clyde products, including frame styles, fits, colors, new releases, and promotions.
- Contribute to store sales goals by creating a strong customer experience and helping customers feel confident in their purchases.
- Process purchases, returns, exchanges, and other transactions accurately through Shopify POS.
- Maintain the visual presentation and organization of the store, including merchandising, restocking, cleaning, and product placement.
- Assist with inventory management, receiving, fulfillment, shipping, and other day-to-day operational needs.
- Support store opening and closing procedures and help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.
- Assist with store events, activations, and local pop-ups, including setup, customer engagement, and event execution.
- Support the creation of store-related social content, including photos and videos, and collaborate with the marketing team when needed.
- Work closely with the Store Manager and other associates to maintain strong communication, coverage, and a positive team environment.
- Take initiative across customer experience and store operations rather than waiting to be directed when something needs attention.
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail, fashion, hospitality, customer service, or another customer-facing environment preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with confidence engaging with different types of customers.
- Friendly, approachable, and naturally comfortable creating a welcoming environment.
- Strong sense of customer service and hospitality.
- Ability to listen to customers, understand what they are looking for, and make thoughtful recommendations without being overly sales-driven.
- Strong interest in fashion, eyewear, design, art, music, and culture.
- Reliable, organized, punctual, and able to take ownership of responsibilities.
- Able to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative retail team.
- Comfortable taking direct feedback, learning quickly, and adapting to changing priorities.
- Proactive and willing to help across different areas of the store when needed.
- Availability to work in person at our New York store, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Skills & Qualifications
- Retail, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong customer experience and relationship-building skills.
- Comfortable helping customers with styling and recommending products based on their needs, fit, and personal style.
- Shopify POS or other retail POS experience is a plus.
- Basic understanding of social media and content creation is a plus.
