About the role

Job title: Senior Marketplace Manager

Job type: Full Time

Location: Delaware, Ohio (on-site preferred, remote considered)

Reports to: VP of Category Management

The JEGS Story:

JEGS is an industry-leading high-performance auto parts retailer headquartered in Delaware, Ohio. Founded in 1960 as a small family-owned speed shop, JEGS has grown into one of the largest and most trusted eCommerce automotive parts retailers in the country.

Job Summary:

Our marketplace channels, Amazon, eBay and Walmart, are a meaningful and growing part of the JEGS business. The Senior Marketplace Manager owns them: revenue, margin, assortment, pricing, promotions, advertising and account health.

This role is for someone who is genuinely both things: a commercial leader who can set pricing, build a promotional calendar and defend a margin number, and a technical operator who is comfortable inside Seller Central, Rithum and feed integrations. Most candidates are one or the other. We need both, because on a marketplace the technical decisions are the commercial decisions.

You will work through the Category Management team, partnering with the buyers who own the categories, and you will lead and support the people and partners who keep the channel running day to day.

You will:

Channel strategy and growth

  • Own the marketplace P&L across Amazon, eBay, Walmart and any channels we add. Revenue, margin and contribution are your numbers, including marketplace fees, fulfillment fees and advertising cost.
  • Build the channel strategy, including which categories we lead with, where we expand and which marketplaces are worth entering next, and make the case for or against new opportunities.
  • Define assortment by marketplace in partnership with Category Management, including channel-specific SKUs, exclusives and items we deliberately hold back.
  • Partner with Category Management and Content on listing readiness for new product launches.

Technical and platform ownership

  • Serve as our in-house expert on Amazon Seller Central, eBay Seller Hub and Walmart Seller Center.
  • Own the integration layer, including Rithum and any feed, listing or repricing tools. Set the standards for business rules, templates, feed logic and attribute mapping, and understand how data moves from our systems to each channel and where it breaks.
  • Manage listing quality end to end: titles, bullets, A+ content, imagery, category and attribute mapping, variation structures and fitment data.
  • Diagnose and resolve feed failures, suppressed listings, Buy Box loss, miscategorization, pricing errors and order flow issues such as ingestion, shipping confirmation and tracking upload failures. You should be able to do this yourself and guide others who do.
  • Serve as the escalation point for marketplace platform issues, working with IT, Rithum Support and marketplace account teams to resolve them.
  • Partner with our Data and Content teams on catalog accuracy, enrichment and automation that reduces manual work over time.

Pricing and promotional planning

  • Set and manage pricing strategy by channel, balancing competitiveness, margin and MAP obligations.
  • Own the marketplace promotional calendar and deal programs, coordinated with the broader company promotional plan.
  • Monitor competitive pricing and respond with a plan rather than a reflex.

Advertising and visibility

  • Own marketplace advertising strategy and budget across Amazon Ads, Walmart Connect and eBay Promoted Listings, executed directly or through agency and tool partners.
  • Report on advertising return honestly, including where spend is not working.
  • Improve organic visibility through listing optimization, review generation and keyword strategy.

Operations, compliance and account health

  • Own fulfillment strategy by channel, including FBA, seller fulfilled and dropship, and keep stranded and aged inventory under control.
  • Monitor account health, policy compliance and performance metrics across every platform. Resolve issues before they become suspensions.
  • Partner with Customer Service on marketplace order issues, returns and buyer messaging.
  • Lead and support marketplace operations personnel, setting priorities and standards for day-to-day channel work.
  • Build and maintain documentation and SOPs so channel knowledge does not live with one person.

Performance and reporting

  • Report channel performance weekly and monthly with the same rigor we apply to the core business, including Buy Box, conversion, fees and contribution margin.
  • Build the reporting we do not have yet, and work with our Data team to automate it.
  • Bring a point of view. We want someone who tells us what the numbers mean and what to do about it.

What success looks like:

  • First 90 days: complete an audit of account health, listing suppression, fees and integration issues across all three channels, and fix the highest-impact problems.
  • First year: own a marketplace plan with revenue and margin targets, and deliver against it.

You have:

Required

  • Four or more years in third party marketplace, including at least two owning revenue and margin outcomes. Amazon Seller Central required; eBay or Walmart experience strongly preferred.
  • Deep hands-on comfort with marketplace back ends. You can diagnose a feed or listing error yourself.
  • Experience with a marketplace integration or feed management platform such as Rithum, ChannelAdvisor, Feedonomics or similar.
  • Working knowledge of CSV and XML data formats, SFTP and attribute mapping logic.
  • Strong analytical skills. Comfortable with large catalogs and with building a business case from data.

Nice to have

  • Automotive aftermarket, performance parts or another technical, fitment-driven catalog.
  • Experience with ACES and PIES or equivalent product data standards.
  • Marketplace advertising management, and familiarity with tools such as Helium 10, Pacvue or Teikametrics.
  • Experience launching a new marketplace channel.
  • Experience leading or developing others.
  • Exposure to Snowflake, Sigma or similar analytics environments.
