About the role

Long's is looking for a dynamic and creative Social Media Manager to join our team. This position is responsible for developing and creating social media campaigns and the day-to-day management of the company's social media properties. Successful candidates must possess an elevated professional demeanor and be an excellent communicator, a versatile creative writer, and a team player. They will develop and maintain social media campaigns, collect and analyze data to optimize performance, and create content for the company's social media platforms. The Social Media Manager must stay up to date with trends in social media and utilize their expertise to ensure the company's online presence and brand value are promoted.

This is a Full-Time position based in our Burlington, MA corporate office and will require occasionally working on weekends and some early evenings. This position comes with a comprehensive benefits package.

Essential Job Functions / Core Responsibilities

  • Develop social media content plans that are consistent with the company's brand identity.
  • Create consistent, meaningful content on all social media platforms, including writing and editing social media posts, capturing and editing static and video content, improving audience engagement, and collaborating with brand marketing to select product for content shoots.
  • Manage daily social media posts and continually look to evolve and elevate Long's presence both in existing channels as well as new ones if and when they become relevant.
  • Actively engage with social followers and relevant community members to amplify our presence on respective channels, including responding to queries in a timely manner.
  • Manage monthly reporting and the analyzation of key performance indicators (KPIs) to determine the performance of social media platforms and campaigns, and make recommendations based on the data.
  • Manage the creation of monthly and yearly calendars for all social platforms, identifying opportunities around key consumer moments, cultural events, and trends.
  • Think strategically and collaboratively about how "social-first" content can integrate within other channels including the Long's website, email and the retail experience.
  • Appear on camera as a brand ambassador for Long's, participating in photo and video content for digital channels as needed.
  • Aim to create a connected experience between social communities and other customer touchpoints.
  • Suggest recommendations to adjust the social media marketing strategy for optimal results.
  • Stay up to date on best practices and emerging trends in social media.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field required.
  • 3+ years of social media experience including planning and managing content in a corporate, or agency setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and must have a thorough understanding of social media management and strategy.
  • Experience using various analytics software.
  • General understanding of retail operations and jewelry products.
  • Ability to think critically about how to evolve and elevate company presence across all communications channels.
  • Experience in leading campaigns, developing assets, data storytelling, media relations, and issue handling.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box and come up with innovative ideas for social media campaigns.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
  • Proficiency with media production tools such as DSLR and smartphone cameras.
  • Ability to take creative direction.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high pressure environment.
