About us
Felt Right is the go-to source for solving sound problems in interior spaces. We serve both residential and commercial segments via our Shopify-hosted website.
About the role
You'll work directly with our marketing team to make Felt Right appear more often in online search results from traditional search engines to AI engines like ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity.
In-person at our Bluffdale office, 10-15 hours per week.
What you'll work on
AI search and content
- Research the kinds of questions our customers ask and implement tactics to rank high in search results for those phrases and terms
- Write and structure content so AI assistants can pull clean, citable answers from it — FAQs, comparison pages, spec explainers
- Track where Felt Right does and doesn't get mentioned in AI answers for our key topics, and figure out why
- Look for citation opportunities off-site: Reddit threads, design forums, trade publications, roundups
Technical SEO
- Audit our Shopify storefront for crawl, indexing, speed, and internal linking issues
- Implement and validate structured data (product descriptions, FAQs, technical documentation, organization, and schema)
- Clean up title tags, meta descriptions, headings, image alt text, and URL structure across product and collection pages
- Flag and help fix broken links, redirect chains, and duplicate or thin pages
Measurement
- Pull and organize data from Google Search Console, GA4, Shopify, SEM Rush, and Ahrefs to inform our organic search strategy
- Build simple recurring reports on rankings, impressions, clicks, and AI-answer visibility
- Help connect search performance to leads and orders so we know what's actually working
What we're looking for
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program studying marketing, communications, English, information systems, or a related field.
- A strong writer capable of explaining technical concepts in understandable terms.
- Comfortable in spreadsheets, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, and SEM Rush
- You've used ChatGPT, Claude, or Perplexity enough to have opinions about how they decide what to cite
- Organized self-starter with original, evidenced based ideas for improving our search rankings
- Able to work on-site in our Bluffdale office 10–15 hours a week, on a schedule that fits around your classes
What you'll get
- Direct mentorship from our marketing team and the opportunity to work hands-on in an account with a lot of potential
- A portfolio of real published work with measurable results
