Purpose of the Role

Reporting to the SEO Team Lead and working as part of the SEO team, the SEO/GEO Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring and optimizing online search visibility for the two (2) banners of the la Vie en Rose group (la Vie en Rose and Bikini Village) across three markets: FR-CA, EN-CA and EN-US.
In an environment shaped by the evolution of search engines and the rise of artificial intelligence, the SEO/GEO Specialist will adapt search strategies to ensure a lasting presence in both traditional search results and generative and conversational experiences.

Key Responsibilities

SEO and GEO Strategy

  • Develop and lead SEO/GEO strategies to improve website visibility in traditional and generative search results.
  • Develop comprehensive content strategies aligned with search intent and evolving user search behaviours.
  • Develop, deploy and monitor local search strategies for the Canadian and U.S. markets.

Analysis and Action Plans

  • Conduct keyword research by market (FR-CA, EN-CA and EN-US) and competitive analyses.
  • Monitor and analyze SEO performance, and produce monthly reports and recommendations for management, including the impact of Google updates.
  • Build action plans prioritized by impact and effort, then measure the results.

Content and UX

  • Optimize content with the copywriting team: SEO briefs, product listing pages, product pages, tags and internal linking, including for seasonal campaigns.
  • Work with the Web team on site architecture, user journeys and calls to action (UX and CRO).

Collaboration and Industry Monitoring

  • Collaborate with the marketing, content, product, e-commerce and paid search teams.
  • Stay current on trends, algorithm updates and AI innovations, and share new tools with the team.

  • Data analysis and critical thinking: You excel at interpreting SEO performance indicators and turning data into concrete, measurable actions.
  • Digital expertise and curiosity: You understand how search algorithms work and have a sharp eye for optimization opportunities.
  • Communication and collaboration: You can explain SEO concepts clearly to other teams and work closely with the e-commerce, content, marketing and paid search teams.
  • Autonomy and prioritization: You can organize your work, prioritize your recommendations and make a compelling case for them to non-specialists.
  • Strategic awareness and a drive to innovate: SEO is constantly evolving, and so are you. You stay on top of trends, AI developments and algorithm updates to remain one step ahead.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, a graduate diploma in E-commerce or Marketing, or relevant experience in a related field;
  • 2 to 4 years of SEO experience, either in an agency or in-house;
  • Bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written (the role requires SEO research for the Canadian and U.S. markets);
  • Good understanding of search engines and how large language models (LLMs) work;
  • Advanced knowledge of the following tools:
  • Google Analytics (certification is an asset)
  • Google Search Console
  • Ahrefs
  • SEMrush
  • Screaming Frog
  • Knowledge of structured data (Schema.org);
  • Experience with, or a strong interest in, using AI tools for SEO;
  • Strong data analysis skills and the ability to present your findings to non-specialists;
  • Proactive and able to bring forward recommendations;
  • Organized and able to manage several projects at once;
  • Solution-oriented;
  • Up to date on the latest digital marketing trends and best practices.
