About the role

Job Title: Creative Strategist (Mid-weight)

About the Role

Epic Dialogue is an award-winning marketing agency that helps organisations turn complex ideas into narratives that build trust. We work with financial services brands, government organisations and technology platforms across content strategy, creative strategy, social media and KOL marketing.

We are looking for a Creative Strategist who can turn complex business and communication problems into clear strategies, sharp creative briefs and compelling ideas. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, creative quality, and business growth.

You will bring together audience understanding, brand thinking, cultural awareness and knowledge of social and digital platforms to help clients answer three questions:

  • Define the mission: What do we need to achieve, and what should we say?
  • Win hearts and minds: How do we make people care?
  • Own the terrain: Which channels, spaces and conversations should we establish a strong presence in?

Working closely with the Managing Director, Account Management and Creative team, you will own strategic work across assigned accounts, with guidance on complex briefs and major pitches. You should be ready to develop recommendations, brief the team and lead client discussions with increasing independence.

What You Will Own

  • Strategic planning across assigned accounts, from understanding the problem through to creative execution
  • Creative briefs, campaign strategies, messaging and content frameworks
  • Strategic direction on monthly content plans, working with the account and creative teams to develop and review calendars
  • Audience research, competitor analysis and cultural insights that inform the work
  • Proactive recommendations that help clients improve their marketing and communications
  • Review of creative work against the agreed strategy and brief
  • Strategic contributions to pitches, proposals and opportunities within existing accounts
Key Responsibilities

1. Turn insights into strategy and ideas

  • Research audiences, categories and culture to uncover actionable insights
  • Develop positioning, messaging, campaign ideas and content strategies
  • Write sharp briefs that give creatives direction and room to explore
  • Support recommendations with clear reasoning and guide execution against business objectives
  • Write and refine copy across campaign concepts, social content, video scripts and digital touchpoints, translating strategy into clear, compelling messaging
  • Review campaign and content performance, identify learnings and recommend improvements

2. Translate Culture and Digital Trends into Opportunities

  • Track cultural shifts, audience behaviours and platform developments
  • Turn relevant trends into ideas that fit each client’s brand and objectives
  • Connect content, creators and digital touchpoints into effective audience journeys
  • Apply emerging technology and AI tools where they improve the work

3. Review Creative Work and Raise Standards

  • Review ideas, captions, visuals, scripts and campaign assets across assigned accounts before MD or client review
  • Assess hooks, messaging and execution against the approved strategy and brief, providing actionable feedback
  • Work with the account and creative teams to ensure assets meet brand guidelines, platform specifications and client requirements
  • Strengthen the creative team’s work and strategic thinking through regular feedback

4. Lead Client Strategy and Growth

  • Present and defend strategic recommendations with clear rationale
  • Build trusted client relationships and proactively bring ideas beyond the brief
  • Identify opportunities for new projects and scope expansion with the account team and MD
  • Contribute strategic thinking to pitches and proposals
  • Collaborate with creatives from briefing through delivery

5. Build Epic Dialogue’s Inbound Pipeline

  • Lead the agency’s LinkedIn and Instagram content strategy, delivering at least three LinkedIn posts weekly with creative and publishing support
  • Develop a lead-generation plan within the first 90 days, defining target audiences, channels, content priorities and success measures
  • Turn client wins into case studies that demonstrate measurable results
  • Track content performance and qualified enquiries, recommending improvements with the account team and MD

What Success Looks Like

In Your First Three Months

  • You understand your assigned clients, their audiences and their business priorities
  • You develop clear briefs and recommendations with direction from the Managing Director
  • You build productive relationships with the account and creative teams
  • You are familiar with the agency’ ways of working and can begin presenting your thinking in client discussions and successful takeover of various content calendars
  • You lead routine strategic work across assigned accounts with periodic input from the Managing Director

Within Your First Year

  • Your briefs give the creative team clear direction and lead to stronger work
  • Clients increasingly turn to you for strategic advice
  • Each assigned account receives at least one substantive proactive recommendation per quarter
  • Your recommendations help create new opportunities within existing accounts
  • You contribute one piece of publishable thinking per quarter

We assess the quality of your thinking, the work it enables, client confidence and your contribution to account growth. Detailed KPIs and first-year milestones will be agreed during onboarding.

Who we are looking for:

You have three to five years of experience in creative, brand or content strategy, ideally in an agency. You look beyond the brief to understand the underlying problem, turning insights into clear strategies and compelling ideas that connect with audiences.

You bring:

  • Strategic thinking, creative instincts and strong copywriting skills
  • Cultural awareness and fluency in social platforms and digital formats
  • Clear communication and care with complex or regulated topics
  • A strong point of view and openness to feedback and collaboration
  • Ownership, sound judgement and the ability to navigate ambiguity
  • Thoughtful use of AI, with attention to quality and accuracy

Relevant qualifications are welcome. We also value your experience, perspective and the quality of your thinking.
