Position Overview

MintInk Sports Cards Inc. is looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Store Manager to join our Oakville retail team.

The Assistant Store Manager will work closely with the Store Manager to support the overall performance and day-to-day operation of the location. This role combines hands-on leadership, sales management, customer experience, merchandising, inventory control, employee development, and operational execution.

The successful candidate will be a visible leader on the sales floor who is comfortable coaching employees, engaging customers, driving results, and stepping into a leadership role whenever the Store Manager is unavailable.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

• Support the Store Manager in leading the day-to-day operations of the Oakville location
• Provide coaching, direction, and ongoing feedback to Retail Sales Associates
• Help create a positive, accountable, and sales-focused team environment
• Lead by example through strong customer engagement, professionalism, and work ethic
• Assist with onboarding and training new employees
• Help identify employee development opportunities and support performance improvement
• Act as the Manager on Duty when the Store Manager is unavailable
• Assist with scheduling and daily allocation of team responsibilities

Sales & Customer Experience

• Help drive store sales and achieve established performance goals and KPIs
• Coach employees on customer engagement, product recommendations, upselling, and add-on sales
• Build relationships with regular customers, collectors, and members of the local hobby community
• Ensure customers consistently receive a knowledgeable, welcoming, and professional experience
• Stay informed on new releases, promotions, grading services, events, and key product categories
• Assist with resolving customer concerns and escalated service situations

Store Operations

• Support opening and closing procedures and ensure operational standards are consistently followed
• Ensure accurate POS transactions, cash handling, and daily reconciliation procedures
• Maintain a clean, organized, secure, and visually appealing retail environment
• Support receiving, stock replenishment, merchandising, and product presentation
• Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, stock transfers, and inventory accuracy
• Ensure company procedures relating to product security and loss prevention are followed
• Support store events, product launches, promotions, and special activities

Merchandising & Inventory

• Maintain strong visual merchandising standards throughout the store
• Ensure product is properly priced, displayed, replenished, and organized
• Identify inventory gaps and communicate product needs to the appropriate teams
• Help maintain accurate inventory levels across sports cards, TCGs, graded cards, accessories, and other product categories
• Support inter-store transfers and inventory receiving processes

Performance & Accountability

• Assist the Store Manager in reviewing store performance and identifying opportunities to improve sales and operations
• Help track and execute against company KPIs and performance objectives
• Follow up on assigned projects, store initiatives, and operational priorities
• Ensure company policies, procedures, and standards are consistently followed by the team
• Communicate store opportunities, risks, staffing concerns, and operational issues to the Store Manager
