As a Vice President, Integrated Media Planning, you will lead the strategic vision for integrated media planning across a portfolio of consumer health and wellbeing brands, translating business ambition into bold, measurable media solutions. You’ll serve as a senior strategic partner to Client Leads and executive stakeholders, shaping full-funnel media strategies that connect audience, culture, channels, measurement, and business outcomes. You’ll also help define how Tinuiti’s planning discipline evolves through stronger tools, clearer frameworks, sharper narratives, and a high-performing team of planning leaders and specialists. This role is best suited for someone who can operate at executive altitude with clients, while also building capability, standards, and thought leadership across the broader planning function. Experience leading integrated media planning for CPG or closely related consumer categories is required, with experience in consumer health and wellbeing strongly preferred.


Level and scope alignment

  • Level: Vice President (E1). First tier of executive-level leadership within Strategic Planning; oversees teams managing multiple clients, contributes to the vision of the planning team, drives the agenda set by senior leadership, and serves as a first point of escalation for senior clients.
  • Team: Leads a team of Media Planning Directors, Managers, and Planners; accountable for performance, leadership bench strength, coaching, succession, and overall planning quality across the group.
  • Scope: Owns integrated media planning across multiple key clients and major growth opportunities; shapes portfolio-level planning standards, narratives, and strategic priorities in partnership with Client Leadership, Analytics/Econometrics, Product, Creative Strategy, and Communications Planning.

Key responsibilities
Client‑Centric

  • Set the strategic planning direction across the portfolio, ensuring the function consistently translates client ambition into bold, measurable media strategies that influence executive decisions.
  • Establish and maintain long-term strategic relationships with senior media and marketing stakeholders, often at the C-suite level, to build trust and deepen partnership value.
  • Lead key client portfolios, overseeing the development of comprehensive media strategy and ensuring account health, strategic quality, and measurable business impact.
  • Translate client ambitions and business challenges into integrated media strategies that define sources of growth, clarify the role of media, and support profitable brand and performance outcomes.
  • Act as a senior strategic partner to Client Leads, helping reframe ambiguous business problems into actionable media opportunities and investment decisions.
  • Co-lead major new business pitches in collaboration with Business Development, shaping the planning narrative, strategic recommendation, and case for investment.

Product‑Led
With Strategic Planning senior leadership, help define the long-term direction for the planning suite and broader planning capability, and help build the leadership pipeline required to sustain strategic excellence across the function.

  • Define and champion adoption of Tinuiti’s planning suite, proprietary tools, and technology ecosystem across the planning function, ensuring they are applied in ways that improve strategic quality, scalability, and ROI.
  • Maintain expert fluency in the planning suite, audience and research tools, and relevant data structures; help the organization understand what these tools can do, where they are strongest, and where they have limits.
  • Build compelling, action-driving narratives from planning and research data that guide clients and internal teams toward stronger strategic decisions.
  • Guide the evolution of internal planning products and external tool partnerships, ensuring they align with future planning needs and broader business priorities.

Data & Measurement‑Driven

  • Expertly synthesize client, consumer, market, and media data into strategic narratives that clarify what matters most and where clients should invest next.
  • Connect planning outputs to advanced measurement frameworks—including MMM and broader attribution/incrementality thinking—so planning recommendations are both consumer-centric and commercially grounded.
  • Ensure the planning team uses data rigorously and transparently, with clear success criteria, thoughtful assumptions, and actionable learning loops across major planning decisions.
  • Present persuasive, data-driven strategic narratives to senior stakeholders that secure investment, influence planning direction, and reset trajectories when needed.

  • Serve as a thought leader in media and marketing, developing advanced planning strategies that align to business goals and reinforce Tinuiti’s strategic planning point of view.
  • Apply deep strategic knowledge across multiple channels, including owned and earned where relevant, to optimize the holistic media mix and improve planning quality across clients.
  • Partner with the VP of Communications Planning and adjacent specialists to ensure planning recommendations connect audience, messages, channels, and media roles coherently across the funnel.
  • Lead client and team education on media fundamentals, audience strategy, product/tool use, and channel roles, raising the strategic acumen of both clients and internal teams.

Owner Mindset

  • Drive accountability across the planning organization, ensuring strategic recommendations are high quality, business-relevant, and consistently delivered across teams and clients.
  • Cultivate a growth, curious, and collaborative mindset—encouraging innovation, experimentation, and smarter ways of working within the planning discipline.
  • Identify and shape strategically aligned cross-sell and growth opportunities across the client portfolio, and act as a planning leader in major business development efforts.
  • Strengthen partnerships with Product, Econometrics, Analytics, and channel leadership to improve strategic outputs and ensure the planning function remains tightly connected to the rest of Tinuiti’s solution ecosystem.

People Leader

  • Lead and grow a team of Directors, Senior Directors, and Planners; set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and build a strong leadership pipeline within the planning function.
  • Hold leaders accountable for quality, values, and people development, while maintaining strong engagement and alignment through change and ambiguity.
  • Shape and reinforce a leadership culture rooted in trust, clarity, ownership, and strategic excellence.
  • Represent the planning team’s talent and capability agenda in senior forums, influencing broader leadership and capability decisions across Tinuiti.

Professional & Technical Qualifications

  • 15+ years of strategic planning, media strategy, or brand/communications strategy experience.
  • 8+ years managing teams of planning professionals, including senior planners and/or planning leaders.
  • Experience leading cross-functional strategy engagements with direct exposure to C-level stakeholders.
  • Deep knowledge of media and marketing trends across linear, digital, and emerging platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to scale responsible AI use through workflow design, team enablement, governance, and business-focused adoption that improves efficiency, quality, and strategic outcomes.
  • Strong command of strategy, insights, and planning tools.
  • Strong written, verbal, and visual presentation skills.
  • Experience supporting new business and thought leadership efforts.
  • Ability to travel to onsite meetings as required.
