Own the design quality of Acadaca's ecommerce client work - creating design systems, client-facing interfaces, and reusable patterns that accelerate delivery and elevate outcomes. We're looking for a designer who thinks in systems, not just screens, gets energized by creating patterns that scale across clients and projects, and wants to push the boundary of what's possible with AI-augmented design while maintaining craft quality. Growth path to Senior UX Designer, Design Lead, or Creative Director, with the opportunity to shape design practice across Acadaca's client portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Client design delivery: own UX/UI design for assigned project slots and retainer clients - wireframes through production assets.
• Design systems: build and maintain reusable design systems and component libraries for productized offerings (Core Shopify Theme, Sanity Accelerator).
• AI-augmented design: integrate AI tools into the design workflow for rapid prototyping, asset generation, and design iteration.
• Developer handoff: produce clear, complete design specs that engineers can implement without ambiguity, and take part in implementation review.
• Client communication: present design concepts and rationale to clients, translating business goals into design decisions.
• Brand and accessibility standards: make sure all client deliverables meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards and align with client brand guidelines.
• Use AI tools for rapid prototyping, layout generation, design exploration, and asset creation (imagery, icons, illustrations) where appropriate.
• Collaborate with engineers on AI-generated frontend code review for design fidelity, and keep evaluating new AI design tools.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in UX/UI design, preferably in ecommerce or agency environments.
• Proficiency with design tools (Figma, Sketch, or equivalent) and design system management.
• Strong understanding of Shopify themes, ecommerce UX patterns, and conversion optimization.
• Experience with responsive design, mobile-first principles, and accessibility standards.
• Familiarity with frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, React) sufficient for effective developer collaboration.
• AI design tool experience or strong aptitude for rapid adoption.
