About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Managing Editor to join Transworld and play an important role at the heart of its publishing operation.
Home to bestselling and award-winning authors across fiction and non-fiction, Transworld publishes an incredibly varied range of books – from the biggest commercial brands, including Dan Brown and Lee Child, and landmark, conversation-starting non-fiction such as Nobody’s Girl by Virginia Roberts Giuffre, to literary bestsellers and exciting new voices such as Lost Lambs by Madeline Cash.
As Senior Managing Editor, you’ll join an experienced Managing Editorial team and manage fiction and non-fiction titles from manuscript through to final files, including high-profile authors and complex non-fiction projects.
Alongside managing your own titles, you’ll provide editorial expertise and support across the department, deputising for the Managing Editorial Director when required. You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute ideas about how the team’s systems, processes and ways of working can continue to develop.
You’ll be an accomplished managing editor with excellent editorial judgement, strong attention to detail and the ability to handle complex projects. Collaborative and highly organised, you’ll bring plenty of initiative and enjoy being part of an experienced team where you can share your expertise.
Please apply with your CV and cover letter (both in PDF format) outlining why you are the right candidate for the role by 11:59pm on Thursday 22nd October. The cover letter should be uploaded as an additional document.
Please ensure you include a cover letter, as it is a crucial part of our assessment process. The cover letter offers an opportunity to show how your experience and interests align with the role requirements. Typically, we expect the cover letter to be no more than one or two pages in length.
Circa £50,000 dependent on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits.
