About the role

About Us
Since 2003, Luzern eCommerce has been helping leading global brands grow their online business. We partner with brands including Panasonic, Reebok, Stokke, KIKO, Next, Twining's, Canon, Bondi Sands and Philips, helping them accelerate growth and deliver exceptional customer experiences across major marketplaces including Amazon and Zalando, branded webstores and social platforms.

Backed by significant investment, Luzern is an international, technology-led eCommerce business with anambitious growth strategy. Our AI-enabled Channel Optimizer platform, combined with our eCommerce expertise, helps brands manage and grow their presence across increasingly complex digital channels.
As we continue to grow and evolve, we are looking for talented people who enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and want to play an active role in the next stage of Luzern's development.

The Senior eCommerce Content Strategist owns content strategy and execution across Amazon and the wider commerce ecosystem for Luzern's enterprise brand clients. Amazon is the primary focus — listings, A+/Premium A+ Content, Brand Store and related content — but the role is deliberately platform-agnostic in outlook, extending strategy and content guidance to other marketplaces, retailer sites (e.g. Tesco, Zalando,Otto) and D2C.

The role is audit-led: content strategy is built from a structured read of customer and platform signals — reviews, search terms, AI-generated summaries, and the queries customers put to AI assistants and platform agents — combined with a quality assessment of current content (using a framework such as IDQ or equivalent) against Best-in-Class competitors and audience requirements. Strategy, messaging and content requirements follow from that evidence base, rather than from assumption.

A defining part of the role is thinking beyond traditional platform search: strategies must consider how content needs to be structured and prepared to be discovered and surfaced by generative AI assistants (e.g ChatGPT) and in-platform shopping agents (e.g. Amazon's Rufus), alongside conventional marketplace and retailer search algorithms.

The role sits as the senior content specialist within a small delivery pod, working alongside an SEO Executive and Designers. It carries direct client-facing responsibility: estimating, briefing, managing feedback and contributing to proposals and is responsible for reviewing the pod's output before it reaches the client. It does not carry resourcing, project management or formal line management responsibility.

Tasks

What You’ll Be Doing

Content Audits & Quality Assessment
● Signal analysis: analyse customer reviews, search terms, AI-generated summaries, and the queries customers and AI agents put to platforms (e.g. Rufus prompts), to understand what content needs to do and where current content falls short.
● Quality benchmarking — review current platform content and score it against a content quality framework (e.g. IDQ or equivalent), benchmarking against Best-in-Class competitors and audience requirements.
● Findings to action — translate audit findings into a clear, prioritised view of content requirements that feeds directly into strategy.

Content Strategy Development
● Amazon content ownership- develop and own content strategy and execution for listings, A+/Premium A+ Content, Brand Store and related Amazon content, as the role's primary focus.
● Cross-platform extension — extend strategy and content recommendations to other marketplaces, retailer sites (e.g. Tesco, Zalando, Otto) and D2C storefronts, adapting to each platform's content rules, algorithm and customer behaviour.
● Strategic framework - from audit findings, develop comms objectives, key messages and a messaging hierarchy for each client or category.
● Content requirements - define the content requirements, imagery and copy needed to deliverthe strategy, and the frameworks/guidelines the team and client can act on.
● Wireframes & mock-ups - develop A+ and Brand Store wireframes and mock-ups in collaborationwith the Designer, turning strategy into an executable creative direction.

AI & Agentic Discoverability
● AI-ready content — build content strategies that account for how product and brand content is read, ranked and surfaced by generative AI assistants (e.g. ChatGPT) and in-platform shopping agents (e.g Rufus), alongside traditional search.
● Point of view — keep Luzern's thinking on AI/agentic discoverability current, and translate emerging platform and LLM behaviour into practical, sellable content recommendations.
● Alignment with SEO — partner with the SEO Executive so keyword and search strategy and content structure are aligned across traditional and AI-mediated discovery.

Testing & Performance Monitoring
● A/B testing — recommend and run A/B tests (e.g. on A+ Content, Brand Store, imagery and messaging) to determine the most effective executional approach, rather than relying on opinion or precedent.
● Monitoring set-up - set up monitoring using Compass (or equivalent) to measure content effectiveness and implementation.
● Reporting on impact — track and report on content performance against strategy objectives, feeding learnings back into future audits and strategy.

Creative Briefing & Review
● Strategic foundation - develop the strategy and messaging that underpins paid social, display and
marketplace advertising content.
● Creative briefs - write and own briefs for Designers producing static and video ad assets, translating strategy into clear creative direction.
● Creative review - review creative output against the brief, brand guidelines and platform requirements before client delivery.

Client Management
● Client-facing delivery - present content strategy, recommendations and audit findings directly to client stakeholders.
● Estimates & scoping - prepare estimates and scopes of work for content workstreams.
● Briefs — shape and write content and creative briefs in response to client requirements.
● Feedback management — manage client feedback through to resolution, balancing client expectations against strategy and platform best practice.
● Proposals — contribute to and help prepare proposals and pitch content for new and existing client business.

Quality & Output Review
● Senior review — review the SEO Executive's and Designers' work before it is sent to the client, checking it against strategy, brand guidelines and platform requirements.
● Direction — give feedback and direction to keep output consistent and on-strategy.

AI-Enabled Working
● AI as a working method — use AI tools proficiently for content and competitive audits, for generating recommendations, and for producing or accelerating creative and written content — not only as a subject of strategy.
● Continuous improvement — identify and recommend where AI tools can improve the speed or quality of content production and audit work across the team.

● Proven experience in Amazon content strategy and execution (listings, A+/Premium A+ Content, Brand Store, Amazon Posts), ideally within an agency or managed services environment.

● Working knowledge of content requirements across at least one other marketplace or major retailer platform (e.g. Tesco, Zalando, Otto) and D2C.

● Experience running content audits — analysing reviews, search terms, AI-generated summaries and customer/AI-agent queries — and scoring content quality (e.g. IDQ or equivalent) against best-in-Class standards.

● Experience translating audit findings into content strategy: comms objectives, key messaging, messaging hierarchy, and content requirements for imagery and copy.

● Experience developing or briefing A+ and Brand Store wireframes and mock-ups, working closely with designers.

● Experience designing and running A/B tests to determine the most effective executional approach, and setting up performance monitoring (e.g. Amazon Compass or equivalent) to track results.

● Strong understanding of how AI assistants and platform shopping agents (e.g. ChatGPT, Rufus)surface and rank product content, and how content should be structured to support this.

● Confident, credible client-facing communicator — comfortable presenting strategy, leading feedback conversations, and owning estimates and proposals.

● Experience briefing creative teams for paid social/display advertising, across both static and video formats.

● Demonstrable, hands-on use of AI tools for research, auditing and content production, not just familiarity in principle.

● Strong copywriting and content editing skills, with a close eye for brand and platform compliance.

● Comfortable reviewing and giving constructive feedback on the work of SEO and design peers.
