The role

Senior / Lead Creative Strategist

Simmer | London | Full-time

Simmer is one of the UK's fastest-growing consumer brands, built on a simple idea: healthy food should taste extraordinary. Founded by brothers Simmy and Jhai with £10 of ingredients, we've grown into a profitable, bootstrapped business generating over £100m in annual recurring revenue, ranking #5 in The Sunday Times 100.

But we still think we're early.

Our ambition is to become the defining brand in healthy eating.

We're fully founder-led, without private equity or corporate layers. The founders remain deeply involved in the business, decisions happen quickly and the people who join us have the opportunity to materially shape what Simmer becomes.

We've built our growth through product quality, performance marketing and founder-led storytelling. Creative has been one of our biggest competitive advantages, helping us reach tens of thousands of customers across the UK.

Now we want to take that advantage much further.

The opportunity

We're looking for an exceptional Senior / Lead Creative Strategist who understands the relationship between creative, consumer behaviour and commercial performance.

Someone who can look at our acquisition engine, understand what is driving growth today and identify what could make it significantly better tomorrow.

You'll have access to meaningful paid media investment, high volumes of creative testing, rich performance data and a talented team of producers and editors who can bring ideas to life.

You'll work directly with our founder and closely with the people responsible for growth, helping determine which audiences we target, what messages resonate and where we invest our creative efforts.

This isn't a role for someone who simply writes briefs or comes up with interesting ideas.

We want someone who can answer the harder questions:

  • Why are certain ads outperforming everything else?
  • Which audiences and customer motivations are we not reaching?
  • Where are we seeing creative fatigue or diminishing returns, and what should we do about it?
  • Which new concepts, formats and messages could materially improve acquisition?
  • How do we turn individual creative wins into a repeatable engine for growth?
  • Where should we focus our time, creative resources and media investment to generate the greatest return?

You might be a senior Creative Strategist with exceptional performance marketing knowledge, or an experienced Performance Marketer with outstanding creative instincts.

We're open-minded about your background and title. What matters is your ability to combine commercial insight, creative thinking and execution to deliver measurable growth.

For the right person, the role could extend into broader performance marketing ownership.

What you'll do

Own the creative growth opportunity

Understand our acquisition performance, identify the biggest opportunities and develop a clear creative strategy to capture them. Think beyond individual campaigns to customer segments, positioning, messaging and sustainable growth.

Turn performance data into better creative

Go deep into Meta performance, CAC, conversion, creative fatigue, testing results and customer behaviour. Understand why something works, not simply whether it works, and translate those insights into clear creative decisions.

Develop concepts that move the numbers

Create and shape compelling concepts, hooks, scripts and briefs grounded in consumer psychology and commercial insight. Work closely with our production team, editors and creators to turn ideas into high-performing content.

Build a stronger experimentation engine

Identify what we should test, how we should test it and what we'll learn. Develop new angles, challenge assumptions, iterate quickly and scale ideas that demonstrate genuine incremental value.

Connect creative and media performance

Work across creative and performance to understand how messaging, audiences, spend and acquisition economics interact. Help shape decisions around what to produce, what to scale and where to focus investment.

Raise the standard

Develop a strong point of view on what great performance creative looks like. Challenge mediocre ideas, improve the quality of thinking and help the team become more commercially effective without slowing down execution.

Take ownership of outcomes

We're not looking for someone who measures success by how many briefs they've written or campaigns they've launched. We care about what improves as a result of their work.

What we're looking for

We're less interested in how impressive your job title sounds or how many people you've managed than the quality of your thinking, the decisions you've made and the results you've delivered.

You'll bring

  • Proven performance impact. You've helped improve customer acquisition through creative strategy, paid social or a combination of both, and can explain what you personally contributed.
  • Strong Meta and acquisition knowledge. You understand the mechanics of paid social, creative testing, CAC, conversion and scaling performance.
  • Exceptional creative judgement. You instinctively understand hooks, storytelling, consumer psychology, messaging and what makes people pay attention and take action.
  • Analytical depth. You're comfortable working with performance data, spotting patterns, forming hypotheses and making decisions that improve commercial outcomes.
  • Experience at pace. You've worked in an environment where creative is tested frequently, feedback is immediate and strong ideas are developed and iterated quickly.
  • Ownership and ambition. You're comfortable taking responsibility, challenging assumptions and finding solutions without waiting to be told what to do.
  • Intellectual curiosity and humility. You're constantly learning, testing your thinking and willing to change your mind when the evidence says you should.

Why Simmer?

A meaningful growth challenge

We've already built a £100m+ ARR business. The next stage isn't about proving the model works. It's about finding the opportunities that take us much further.

Real scale, without corporate complexity

You'll have meaningful media investment, performance data and creative resources, but still be close enough to the decisions to make things happen quickly.

Work directly with the founder

You'll work closely with Simmy, shaping the creative and commercial decisions that influence how the business grows.

Influence the work, not just the output

We want someone who challenges our thinking, identifies opportunities we've missed and raises the quality of decisions across creative and performance.

A role that can grow with you

We're open-minded about where this role develops. For someone with the right capabilities, there's significant scope to take on broader ownership across creative strategy, performance marketing and growth.

Who will thrive here?

  • Someone who's commercially sharp, creatively ambitious and intellectually curious.
  • Someone who can go from analysing acquisition performance to developing an exceptional creative concept, then work with a team to bring it to life.
  • Someone who has strong opinions but isn't attached to being right.
  • Someone who values pace, takes ownership and cares as much about commercial results as the quality of the ideas.
  • Most importantly, someone who's excited by the opportunity to make a measurable difference to one of the UK's fastest-growing consumer businesses.

If you love understanding why creative works, identifying growth opportunities others miss and turning those insights into commercial results, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply with your CV and, ideally, examples of performance creative or acquisition initiatives you've led, the thinking behind them and the results they delivered.
