Job description
The Digital Marketing Specialist supports The Shared Environment, a thoughtfully curated
multi-seller platform dedicated to authentic Montessori materials, furniture, and learning
resources. The Digital Marketing Specialist’s goal is to help increase qualified traffic, improve
conversion rates, strengthen brand awareness, and support consistent marketing execution.
This is a remote, hands-on marketing role for someone who enjoys a mix of content, SEO, email
marketing, campaign design and execution, website updates, organic social, and performance
reporting. Because we’re a small, fast-moving team, the right person will be agile, collaborative,
communicative, organized, adaptable, comfortable learning new tools, and able to move work
forward across multiple priorities.
In collaboration with subject matter experts, you’ll design and execute marketing initiatives that
help sellers, practitioners, schools, and families discover, understand, and trust The Shared
Environment. This role will provide the day-to-day marketing work that drives the company’s
sales, including content creation, SEO-informed website updates, newsletters, campaign
assets, reporting, and marketing collateral for events, sponsorships, and speaking opportunities.
You do not need to be a technical SEO expert, but you should understand and enjoy SEO
fundamentals, and be comfortable applying them to content, website updates, and campaign
work.
This role is ideal for someone with 2+ years of experience who is creative, organized,
execution-oriented, and interested in growing as a marketer. Montessori training is not required,
but the right person will be willing and eager to learn about the Montessori methodology and the
community we serve.
This position reports to the Director of Operations of The Shared Environment, working in close

Plan, create, publish, repurpose, and optimize organic social content across priority platforms.
- Content & SEO: Create, coordinate, update, and optimize content, including website pages, marketplace content, product highlights, seller stories, and Montessori-themed pieces. Apply SEO fundamentals such as keyword research, search intent, on-page optimization, internal linking, link building support, and content structure to help grow qualified organic traffic.
- Website & marketplace: Update website and marketplace pages to improve clarity, accessibility, SEO, user experience, engagement, and conversion. Support ongoing content improvements and page updates based on business priorities and performance insights.
- Reporting & insights: Track performance using tools such as Google Analytics, Zoho Analytics, Google Search Console, social analytics, email analytics, and spreadsheets. Prepare regular reports, identify practical insights, and suggest improvements based on what is working.
- Execution: Balance multiple projects across The Shared Environment, adapt as priorities evolve, and help move marketing work forward in a small, fast-moving team. Help maintain a clear, consistent, and distinct brand voice. Partner with the Community & Partnership Manager to create Seller and Reader recruitment assets, Seller spotlights and partner/influencer campaign content.
