About the role

We're looking for an assistant-level content creator to help build, film, edit and publish creative across various social and media platforms. The person must be able to merge a refined artistic sensibility with storytelling. They know how to think big and execute small. They're comfortable speaking the internet's language and understand how and where chapters of our story should be told. You are very comfortable with the unknown – it's not just the medium (internet, magazine, etc) that is constantly changing, it's how we interact with them as well. Our thoughts on where this is headed will always inform the decisions we make – what may seem like obstacles to many are our opportunities to build our own path. It goes without saying, but we'll say it here, they have to be a great communicator and be comfortable with swift decision making, and tap in to a brain that tilts right brained creative but balanced with pragmatic prioritization and critical thinking skills.

This is a temporary position expected to last approximately six months. While the position is not expected to become permanent, there may be an opportunity for continued employment depending on business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Marketing Director and Creative Director to understand the overarching brand objectives and apply that foundation for creative ideation and execution for all content.
  • Embrace broad concepts and give them visual meaning through original film, photo, and art.
  • Produce successful (i.e incredibly proud of) short-form video, photo and artistic assets that will be used across different social media channels from Instagram to Substack and those yet unknown.
  • Ensure social calendar deadlines are met and work to achieve the goals outlined in the creative briefs.
  • Produce original content. Your hands and your mind need to be able to make stuff. Good stuff.
  • Great writing skills that help deliver our message in the language appropriate to the brand and the moment.
  • You understand that the core of your job is to use your creative skills in design, videography and copywriting to drive connectivity with our audience and deliver results.
  • Each contribution you make is grounded in the so what. No dancing cats, just because they can. In fact, since anything can be made now, it's more important than ever that we build with purpose. Our purpose.

Qualifications

  • You have a great creative portfolio that reflects both artistic sensibility and marketing-driven storytelling.
  • Demonstrated skill in physical art mediums (e.g., photography, film, painting, sculpture) with the ability to apply that skill to brand storytelling.
  • A portfolio that reflects both artistic sensibility and marketing-driven storytelling.
  • Understanding of visual narrative from concept to completion.
  • Proficiency in creative tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and familiarity with photography/video workflows.
  • Passionate about style, culture, and the craft of visual communication, bringing a wide range of visual and cultural references from art, film, literature, and design into the creative process. Appreciation of movies from the 80s and 90s a bonus.
