ABOUT THE ROLE

Grip Studio is looking for an experienced, creative and highly organised Content & Creative Strategist to join our team.

This is a hands-on and client-facing position combining content strategy, creative concept development, social media management, copywriting and basic content creation. You will be responsible for understanding our clients’ brands, audiences and business objectives and translating them into relevant, original and platform-appropriate content. You should be comfortable moving between planning a monthly content calendar, developing campaign ideas, writing captions, creating Stories on Canva, assisting during a content shoot and presenting your recommendations to a client.

Senior account ownership and strategic oversight will remain supported by Grip Studio’s Directors. However, you will be expected to develop strong working relationships with assigned clients, contribute actively during meetings and progressively manage routine content-related discussions independently.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Content Strategy and Planning

  • Develop monthly social media content calendars for assigned client accounts.
  • Understand each client’s objectives, brand positioning, target audiences, communication priorities and ongoing campaigns.
  • Develop content pillars, recurring concepts, campaign ideas and platform-specific approaches.
  • Research relevant trends, cultural moments, conversations and opportunities for clients.
  • Create a purposeful mix of brand-building, educational, promotional, engaging and entertaining content.
  • Identify ways to make client content more distinctive rather than simply meeting a monthly posting requirement.
  • Contribute ideas for campaigns, launches, activations, collaborations and other digital initiatives.
  • Adapt content direction according to performance, client priorities and changing audience behaviour.

Creative Concept Development

  • Develop original concepts for static posts, carousels, Stories, Reels, TikToks and other short-form content.
  • Prepare clear creative directions and briefs for the Multimedia Specialist and other creative resources.
  • Provide references, mood boards, visual cues, shot ideas and examples where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to ensure that the final execution reflects the intended direction.
  • Review creative work and provide constructive feedback before content is presented to clients.
  • Maintain consistency with each client’s brand identity while keeping their content fresh and relevant.

Copywriting and Content Development

  • Write social media captions, headlines, hooks, Story copy, short-form video concepts and other digital copy.
  • Adapt messaging to suit each platform, audience and brand tone.
  • Proofread all content carefully for accuracy, grammar, spelling and brand consistency.
  • Work confidently with both planned and reactive content.
  • Collaborate with the Directors on strategic, corporate or sensitive messaging.

Basic Content Creation

  • Use Canva confidently to create Stories, simple static posts, basic layouts and everyday social media assets.
  • Adapt and resize existing creative assets for different platforms and formats.
  • Create quick-turnaround and reactive content when required.
  • Apply good visual judgement in composition, typography, hierarchy and brand consistency.
  • Recognise when content can be created independently and when it requires support from the Multimedia Specialist.

Content Shoots and Production

  • Assist with the planning and execution of client content shoots.
  • Prepare concepts, shot lists, references, props and other requirements before shoots.
  • Attend shoots and contribute actively to content and creative direction.
  • Capture basic behind-the-scenes, Story and mobile-first content when required.
  • Help ensure that sufficient content is captured for upcoming calendars and campaigns.
  • Collaborate with photographers, videographers, content creators, influencers and the Multimedia Specialist.

Social Media Expertise

The successful candidate must have strong practical knowledge of:

  • Facebook
  • Instagram
  • TikTok

You should understand how audiences, formats, content behaviour and best practices differ across these platforms. You will also be expected to stay informed about new features, algorithm changes, emerging formats and relevant social media trends.

  • Present and explain content calendars, creative concepts and recommendations confidently.
  • Contribute informed creative and social media recommendations during client discussions.
  • Translate client feedback into clear actions for the internal team.
  • Handle routine content-related communication with assigned clients.
  • Follow up on approvals, feedback and information required to keep deliverables on schedule.
  • Maintain a professional, warm and solutions-oriented approach.
  • Escalate strategic, commercial, sensitive or scope-related matters to the appropriate Director.

Internal Coordination and Quality Control

  • Coordinate with the Directors and Multimedia Specialist to keep deliverables on schedule.
  • Prepare clear briefs and provide the necessary context before creative production begins.
  • Keep tasks, feedback and approvals organised using the agency’s designated tools.
  • Check content for accuracy, consistency and completeness before client presentation or publication.
  • Flag delays, missing information, capacity concerns and potential issues early.
  • Contribute actively to brainstorming sessions, campaign planning and creative reviews.
