Senior Creative Strategist / Creative Operations Lead
The role
Senior Creative Strategist / Creative Operations Lead
Salary: £45,000–£60,000
Performance Bonus: Up to £15,000+ per year
Brand: ShroomIQ
About ShroomIQ
ShroomIQ is a fast-growing UK family wellness brand focused on better products for kids, teens and families.
Our flagship product is SuperShrooms, a Calm + Focus gummy for kids and teens.
We are now expanding into new categories, including:
- Daily Greens gummies for kids
- Adult gummies
- New family wellness products
- New formats and product extensions
Our goal is to build one of the most recognisable family wellness brands in the UK.
Creative will be a huge part of how we get there.
The Role
We are looking for a Senior Creative Strategist / Creative Operations Lead to take ownership of the creative machine behind ShroomIQ.
This is not a role for someone who writes a few briefs each week.
We already have significant creative production capacity.
What we need is someone who can
- Lead and organise the creative team
- Keep the pipeline full
- Turn performance data into better creative
- Identify and scale winning concepts
- Build repeatable testing systems
- Make sure every production team knows what to make next
- Create strong feedback loops between creative and media buying
You will sit at the centre of our creative operation.
Our Creative MachineStatic Ads
We have five graphic designers capable of producing 30+ static ads per day.
Your job is not to design them.
Your job is to make sure they are working from strong:
- Concepts
- Hooks
- Angles
- Personas
- Testing priorities
- Winning creative patterns
UGC + Creators
We aim to launch around one new creator campaign per week.
You will help decide
- Which creators to test
- Which personas we need
- Which problems and desires to focus on
- What formats to shoot
- Which hooks to test
- Which creators deserve more investment
The goal is to turn UGC into a real performance channel, not just a content channel.
AI Video
We work with 2–3 external AI creative agencies producing around 25–30 unique concepts per week.
You will direct them with
- Concepts
- Hooks
- Angles
- Personas
- References
- New formats
- Winning patterns
- Iterations of existing winners
We do not want 30 random AI videos.
We want 30 intelligent experiments.
Email Creative Direction
You will also help guide our email team across:
- Campaign concepts
- Product stories
- Launch ideas
- Promotional themes
- Hooks and headlines
- Visual direction
- Ideas that can move between paid social and email
Creative + Operational
This part is critical.
We do not just need someone creative.
We need someone who can build systems.
ShroomIQ is a young brand with a large team. You will not walk into a perfectly organised creative department.
Part of your job is to create it.
That may include
- Briefing systems
- Creative calendars
- Testing frameworks
- Naming conventions
- Performance dashboards
- Winner databases
- Competitor libraries
- Production workflows
- Approval processes
- Weekly creative meetings
- Feedback loops
We want someone who enjoys building workflows, not someone who only knows how to fit into an existing one.
What Your Week Might Look Like
Monday: Review performance. Identify winning ads, hooks, angles, creators, formats, outliers and failures. Decide what we should make more of.
Tuesday: Brief the next round of static ads, UGC, AI video, creator shoots and email concepts.
Wednesday: Research competitors, DTC brands, Meta Ad Library, TikTok, creator trends and new formats.
Thursday: Review production, give feedback, improve weak executions and turn strong concepts into new variations.
Friday: Review the next week’s pipeline, make sure nobody is waiting for work and document what we learned.
What You Will Own
- Paid social creative strategy
- Weekly creative briefing
- Creative testing strategy
- Competitor research
- Hook, angle and persona development
- UGC and creator strategy
- AI creative direction
- Static ad strategy
- Creative input into email
- Performance analysis
- Creative reporting
- Production workflows
- Creative-team organisation
- Winner iteration
- Creative fatigue monitoring
- Feedback between media buying and creative
Performance Matters
We are not looking for a Creative Director who only cares whether something looks good.
We sell products.
Creative needs to perform.
You should understand metrics such as
- CAC
- New Customer CPA
- ROAS
- MER
- CTR
- CPC
- CPM
- Hook rate
- Hold rate
- Watch time
- Conversion rate
You do not need to be our media buyer.
But you need to be able to ask:
- Why did this ad work?
- Why did this one fail?
- What should we test next?
- Is the creator weak, or is the script weak?
- Is the hook strong but the body poor?
- Are we attracting attention from the wrong person?
- What should we make more of?
High Creative Volume
This role suits someone who thrives in a fast, high-output environment.
We do not want five ads a week and endless debate.
We want large volumes of structured creative tests.
The goal is not quantity for the sake of quantity.
It is to learn quickly.
A strong strategist should be able to say:
We tested this persona, across these angles, formats and hooks. This combination won. Now we are building 20 intelligent variations around it.Product Launches
You will also play a major role in new product launches.
One of our biggest upcoming launches is Daily Greens gummies for kids.
You will help answer
- What is the core problem?
- Who is the customer?
- What is the strongest positioning?
- What objections need to be overcome?
- What should TOF creative look like?
- What should UGC look like?
- What should static creative look like?
- Which concepts deserve the most testing?
- How do we turn launch winners into evergreen acquisition ads?
As the range expands, we need someone who can coordinate creative across multiple products at once.
You Might Be A Good Fit If…
You have experience in
- DTC ecommerce
- Paid social creative
- Meta advertising
- Performance marketing
- UGC
- Creative strategy
- High-volume testing
You naturally think in
Hooks. Angles. Personas. Formats. Testing. Performance.
But also
Systems. Deadlines. Workflows. Accountability. Output.
That second part matters just as much.
You Are Probably Not A Good Fit If…
- You need someone else to organise you
- You love brainstorming but hate execution
- You produce a few ideas and stop
- You avoid performance data
- You think creative strategy means mood boards
- You wait to be asked for briefs
- You struggle to manage multiple production teams
- You need mature systems already built around you
What Great Looks Like
Within a few months, we want:
- Every creative team constantly briefed
- A clear weekly testing strategy
- No designers waiting for ideas
- No creators hired without a reason
- No AI agencies producing random content
- Winners turned into intelligent creative families
- Clear records of what hooks, angles, personas and formats work
- Creative and media buying working as one feedback loop
Ultimately
More winning ads. More new customers. More scale.
Compensation
£45,000–£60,000 base salary
Plus a performance bonus of up to £15,000+ per year.
If the creative machine performs and the company grows because of it, we want the person leading it to benefit too.
How To Apply
Please do not send a generic creative portfolio.
We would rather see
- DTC brands you have worked with
- Ads or campaigns you helped create
- Examples of creative briefs
- Testing systems you have built
- Examples of ads you improved after seeing performance
- How you organise large creative pipelines
- How you turn performance data into creative decisions
Please also answer
- You join tomorrow and have five designers, a UGC team and three AI agencies waiting for briefs. What do you do in your first two weeks?
- An ad has an excellent hook rate and CTR but terrible conversion. What would you investigate next?
- How would you organise a creative team capable of producing 100+ pieces of content per week without losing strategic thinking?
