Creative Strategist
The role
Fort Lauderdale United FC (FTL UTD) is a professional soccer club founded in November 2023 and based in Broward County, Florida. The club fields a women's professional team, is launching a men's team, and is building a multi-sport youth platform across South Florida. We're looking for a Creative Strategist who can turn our stories into full youth programs and full stands.
The Creative Strategist decides what photos and videos we make, who they're for, and why, and
judges every piece by one test: did it drive youth registrations or ticket sales? You'll build the creative plan for two audiences, parents choosing youth programs and fans buying tickets, brief the people who shoot and edit, and work with our Digital Marketing Manager to test, measure, and scale what converts.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and own the photo and video creative strategy for youth registrations and for ticket sales, with distinct messaging for parents and for fans
- Write creative briefs covering story, hook, format, length, and call to action for each campaign and registration or match window
- Direct shoots at practices, camps, games, and community events, working with videographers, photographers, and student content creators
- Plan and run creative tests (hooks, thumbnails, formats, talent, offers) and decide what to scale,
iterate, or cut based on cost per registration and cost per ticket
- Work with the Digital Marketing Manager on ad creative for Meta and TikTok, retargeting, and
seasonal campaign calendars
- Develop recurring content formats: player and coach stories, game-day hype, behind-the scenes, parent testimonials, and player development highlights
- Keep a creative library organized by audience, sport, program, and performance
- Make sure all content involving minors follows club policies on consent, privacy, and safeguarding
Requirements
- 3+ years in creative strategy, performance creative, or content marketing, with work tied to measurable conversions (sign-ups, sales, or bookings)
- A portfolio showing specific creative alongside its results, such as cost per conversion or conversion rate
- Hands-on experience running structured creative tests on Meta and/or TikTok
- Strong instincts for short-form video: hooks in the first seconds, pacing, captions, and native platform styles
- Ability to write clear creative briefs and direct shooters and editors
- Comfortable reading ad performance data and turning it into next steps
- Available for evenings and weekends at games and events
Preferred
- Experience in sports, live events, ticketing, or youth and family programs
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Able to shoot and edit yourself (CapCut, Premiere, Lightroom) when needed
- Experience with UGC and creator partnerships, including local athletes and parents
- Knowledge of Broward County and South Florida communities
- Familiarity with ticketing and registration platforms
What success looks like: First 90 days
- A written creative strategy covering both audiences: parents for youth registrations and fans for ticket sales
- A content plan and shoot calendar aligned to registration windows and the match schedule
- First round of creative tests live, with results reviewed weekly with the Digital Marketing Manager
- A creative library set up and organized by audience, program, and performance
First year
- Cost per registration and cost per ticket falling over the year, with clear evidence of which creative drove it
- A set of proven content formats for each audience that can be produced on repeat
- A dependable production team of shooters, editors, and student creators working from your briefs
Details
- Location: Broward County, FL (on-site, with time at fields, games and events)
- Type: Full-time
- Reports to Founder & Chairman
- Works with Digital Marketing Manager (Paid Social & Registrations), coaches, ticketing staff
- Compensation [Salary range to be set] plus [performance bonus, if offered]
- Production budget [Monthly budget for shooters, editors and creators to be set]
How to apply
Send your resume and a short note on why sports creative interests you to [email protected].
Include
- A portfolio link with at least three pieces of photo or video creative, each with the goal and the results it drove
- One example of a creative test you ran: what you tested, what won, and what you did next
Shortlisted candidates will be asked to sketch a creative brief for either a youth registration campaign or a home-game ticket push.
