Creative Strategist & Copywriter
The role
Creative Strategist & Copywriter
Gravitate | Full-time | Remote
Compensation: Approximately $60,000 USD annually, depending on experience
Gravitate is a performance marketing agency helping home service businesses grow through paid social and video advertising.
We’re looking for an ambitious Creative Strategist & Copywriter who wants meaningful responsibility, a demanding workload, and the opportunity to help build the creative side of a growing agency.
You’ll develop advertising concepts, write scripts and ad copy, direct creative execution, and use performance insights to improve what we produce next. We have established SOPs, proven creative approaches, and a team to help you learn our process. You’ll bring strong writing skills, initiative, organization, and the drive to take increasing ownership.
THE OPPORTUNITY — AND THE EXPECTATIONS
Our agency serves approximately 70 client brands. As you learn our process, you’ll take on increasing responsibility for creative strategy across that portfolio.
This is a demanding, high-output role. You’ll balance multiple brands, deadlines, feedback rounds, and creative priorities. Early on, you’ll personally handle a substantial amount of the copywriting and strategic work.
If you’re looking for a light workload, a slow pace, or a narrowly defined set of tasks, this role will not be the right fit.
If you want to sharpen your skills, take responsibility, and help build a department, there is significant room to grow here. As the creative function develops, you’ll have the opportunity to help bring on copywriters and creative support, with a potential path toward Head of Creative Strategy.
We value reliable execution, sound judgment, and clear communication—including raising capacity constraints early and helping decide what matters most.
WHAT YOU’LL OWN
- Write short-form video scripts, hooks, headlines, primary ad copy, offers, and calls to action for Facebook and Instagram campaigns.
- Develop creative concepts based on customer motivations, objections, local markets, and each client’s services.
- Adapt proven advertising approaches across brands while developing fresh angles to test.
- Give clients clear, practical filming instructions and provide editors with actionable creative briefs.
- Review edited ads and give specific feedback on messaging, pacing, visuals, and execution.
- Work with account managers and media buyers to understand results and determine what to create next.
- Manage competing deadlines and keep scripts, briefs, revisions, and creative learnings organized.
- Improve our creative processes and help identify where additional support is needed as we grow.
Our editors handle video editing. Your focus will be strategy, copywriting, and creative direction. Occasional simple graphic work may also be part of the role.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
You’re a strong writer who wants to become an exceptional performance marketer. You take feedback well, follow through on commitments, and become more independent as you learn.
You should bring
- Some experience in copywriting, digital marketing, paid social, or creative strategy—ideally 1–3 years, though the quality of your work matters more than a specific number.
- Clear, conversational, persuasive writing.
- An understanding of hooks, offers, customer objections, and calls to action.
- Examples of scripts, advertisements, or marketing copy you personally created.
- Strong organization and the ability to produce thoughtful work under deadlines.
- Curiosity about why advertising succeeds or fails.
- Willingness to take ownership, solve problems, and communicate when priorities need to change.
Home-services, local lead-generation, and Meta advertising experience are strong advantages. We’re open to training someone with solid fundamentals, strong work habits, and the ambition to grow.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US
- Established SOPs and creative examples to learn from.
- Direct feedback and training in our approach.
- Meaningful responsibility and visibility into campaign results.
- The opportunity to influence how our creative department operates.
- A potential path into creative leadership as you demonstrate results and the business grows, with compensation reviewed as responsibilities expand.
HOW TO APPLY
Submit your resume or LinkedIn profile, along with:
- Two or three examples of scripts, ads, or marketing copy you wrote.
- A brief explanation of the audience, objective, and thinking behind one example.
- An example of how you handled multiple deadlines or took ownership of a challenging project.
- A short note explaining why you want a demanding role with significant responsibility.
Personal projects and clearly labeled sample work are welcome. Please redact confidential client information.
